Shanteka Sigers created and sold her first ad to Lawson’s Cleaners when she was in fifth grade. She graduated from Northwestern University with a B.S. in radio television and film, and with a push from veteran ad man, Ron Kaatz, she became a copywriter.



Recently she was named one of Business Insider's Most Creative Women in Advertising and one of Black Enterprise's Top Women in Advertising and Marketing. She was also a guest lecturer at University of Texas.



She has published several pieces of short fiction in The Chicago Reader and the Evansville Review. You can find her penning her award winning blog, Library Of Maternal Nagging, in Austin, Texas, where she lives with her son and an ancient bullmastiff named Lola.



She is passionate about telling a good story.
